If you were a superheroine, what would your superpower be and how would you use it at work?
My ideal superpower would be the ability to instantly absorb knowledge and comprehend all languages. This capability would enable me to communicate fluently with individuals across the globe in their home languages and to immediately understand the accounting principles and financial regulations of any country upon reading about them.
IF you had to host a dinner with three personalities (living or deceased), who would you invite and why?
I would love to host a dinner with my grandmother, to share her recipes - I still haven't mastered the traditional south african dishes.
I love reading and I’m always blown away by how creative writers are. They come up with the most amazing stories . Sometimes I wish I could write a book myself. Colleen Hoover is one of my favourite authors. I’d love to have dinner with her and hear all about how she comes up with such incredible ideas.
I’d love to have dinner with Warren Buffett because he is known to be of the smartest investors. Even though I’m an accountant, I still sometimes doubt my investment decisions, do not always meet my budget, and not sometimes suffer from “ retail therapy” and I don’t always take into account the compounding effect of money like I should. His advice is simple but super powerful, and he knows how to make your money work for you over the long run. He is known for being down-to-earth and has so many great stories and lessons about investing and life. It would be amazing to learn directly from Warren.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received that’s made a lasting impression on your professional life?
Advice given by my Dad : For a progressive corporate career you need a strong body! It gives immense confidence and endurance and most of the time kicks dust into your competitors! Boardrooms are like boxing rings! Requires subtle but skilful endurance! No tired individual can be a leader!
If your work were represented by a song or soundtrack, which one would you choose and why :
The Feeling by Lost Frequencies : it perfectly captures my work rhythm. When I need a break, I dance to it—it’s the soundtrack of recharging my energy and resetting my focus. The rush of a deadline fuels me; that intense burst of pressure pushes me to get the work done—and nothing beats the satisfaction that comes with crossing tasks off my list. I do my best work during the night, when the world quiets down and I can fully immerse myself. There’s a unique feeling in the night—a blend of calm and electric energy—that inspires my creativity and sharpens my concentration. The Feeling reflects that perfect mix of drive, rhythm, and release that keeps me moving forward
Which fictional character (from a film, series, or book) do you think would make an excellent accountant, and why?
Wonder Woman for me would be the ultimate accountant. She displays immense discipline and pays attention to every little detail, which is perfect for dealing with numbers. She values integrity and to be honest and fair. In her tough battles she stays calm during the storm , which is exactly what an accountant needs to be when there are too many tasks at hand.
